I am the communications officer for ScotsCare and with the communications manager, Elaine, we are responsible for the effective communication of the charity. This involves loads of things from events and fundraising, to PR and writing newsletters.
At the moment i am organising our St Andrew’s Day festival dinner which is taking place on the 28th of November. We are expecting a pretty big crowd, around 140 Scots and would be Scots who come along for a night of Scottish tradition, entertainment and company. There will be music from Isla St Clair, great prizes on offer and great food from the resident Cale Club chef.
We recently held a charity gig with the likes of David Sneddon, Isla St Clair and Ally McErlaine to kick start the St Andrew’s Day celebrations and this dinner will be the culmination of our St Andrew’s festivities.
This leads me on to the other main project i am working on. We have been running a vote to find Scotland’s favourite song with the winner being announced on St Andrew’s Day. We have been running the vote for a few months now and have had thousands of votes cast through our website and through a live vote at the aforementioned charity gig. It’d down to the final 5 and is really close at the top so if you want to vote you still can through www.scotscare.com where you can see clips of the top 5 which include Runrig, Dougie Mclean and the Proclaimers.
