Caledoniart ExhibitionCaledoniart's Scotland's Islands Exhibition: John Lowrie Morrison (Jolomo), Jamie Hageman, Alan Anderson, Mike Healey, Fiona Macrae, Willie Fulton, Robert Kelsey, Laurence Broderick, Vega and Erni Upton. The exhibition is a celebration of the Scottish Islands and part of the Scotland's Islands Festival. It is one of the few events taking place outside of the Islands and gives people an opportunity to view some of the stunning scenery of our Islands without the travel. We will also have a selection of Iona Silver jewellery.
The exhibition is from 25 September to 1 October, 2pm-6pm Sunday 25th, 10am - 8pm daily Monday - Friday, limited viewing 10am - 4pm Saturday 1st October, at the Air Gallery, 32 Dover Street, Mayfair, London W1S 4 NE. Nearest tube, Green Park.

400th Anniversary CelebrationsAs you may be aware, 2011 marks the 400th Anniversary of the Scots Box. In 1611 the Scots Box, which we have a replica of in the office, was used by wealthier Scots to place money which would then be dispersed to the needy. EventsWe organise social events for ScotsCare clients in three main categories. ScotsCare over-50s events We organise three lunches each month, two in London and one in Luton, open to anyone who is Scottish and over 50. Please call Una on 0800 652 2989 to book a place if attending for the first time. Each year we also have a summer outing, a Christmas lunch and a Burns lunch.
Euston lunch When: First Wednesday of each month, 11am - 1pm. What: Sandwich lunch, bingo and the chance to meet other Scots in a small friendly group. Where: St Mary's Church Hall, Eversholt St, NW1 1BN.
Luton lunch When: First Friday of each month, 11am - 1pm. What: Sandwich lunch and bingo in the small bar at the Celtic Club. Where: Celtic Supporters Club, Chobham St, Luton LU1 3BS
Borough Lunch When: Second Wednesday of each month, 11am – 1pm What: Sandwich lunch, bingo and the chance to meet other Scots in a small friendly group. Where: St George the Martyr Church (in the crypt),Borough High St, SE1

ScotsCare family events We organise termly events for children in families who’ve received a children’s grant from ScotsCare in the last year. Recent activities have included ice-skating at the Tower of London Ice Rink for 250 people, a train trip to the seaside for 240 people, and a visit to Kew Gardens. Our events for 2011 are currently being planned and all eligible families will receive an invitation. ScotsCare clients aged 25-45 events We also organise occasional activities for younger clients. Previous events have included a visit to a city farm, a cookery class and guided London walks. Please contact us if you are in this group and have suggestions for future activities. Blether Buddie volunteers phone or visit older clients on a weekly basis. The aim of the programme is to reduce social isolation and improve the emotional wellbeing of isolated and/or disabled ScotsCare clients.
